Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail to follow up with all the projects and works currently being carried out by the ministry, in addition to preparations for the winter reception.
El Molla said during a press conference at the Cabinet that the prime minister addressed the importance of providing all the special needs of citizens and work on reducing quantities of imported from oil and gas.
He added that during the meeting, the final details of the issuance of the executive regulations of the gas law and the review of the composition of the gas market regulator were reviewed, pointing out that the list has been reviewed and will be submitted to the cabinet for discussion soon.
He explained that the meeting touched on to discuss a number of projects in the process of opening soon, including new warehouses of Misr Petroleum area Badr project on the Suez Road after being transferred from the Mostorod district, in addition to the project of Butane Warehouses in Upper Egypt, especially Sohag governorate, increasing its storage capacity including the linking line with the refinery of Assiut and Sohag region will be completed during December.
The Minister of Petroleum pointed out that among the important projects is the Gas Warehouses Project in Alexandria, which has seven warehouses. Two warehouses have been operated and the rest will be operated later with full capacity and storage capacity as the winter enters.
He added that another project related to expansions for the production of gas, a Nawras project area Abu Madi in shallow water which production capacity reached one billion cubic kilometres a day by adding new facilities to the treatment plant in Abu Madi area and the ongoing work currently in many new wells in order to reach increased energy The project to one billion and 100 million cubic kilometres per day.
