The Banque Misr Foundation is continuing its CSR programmes in comprehensive development for Egyptian villages in new governorates, according to Programme Manager Heba Hussein.

Hussein added that the Foundation will provide services in Fayoum and Aswan through providing and developing medical units, ensuring women breadwinners have greater opportunities, and providing clothing, food and the like for orphans.

“The Foundation works on supporting civil society to carry out community and environmental developmental projects, in addition to offering scholarships to outstanding students, besides, initiating projects, which could achieve social solidarity nationwide,” said Hussein.

“The foundation developed 34 medical units in university hospitals, developing 14 villages and informal areas in Sohag, Luxor, Sharqia, Kaloubia and Menofiya”.

She mentioned that the Banque Misr Foundation donated scientific research by the Magdi Yacoub Foundation for Research, a heart disease, kidney and urinary tract centre in Mansoura, Liver Research Institute in Daqahleya and Zagazig University Hospitals.

The Foundation follows-up on and implements projects by its team through monthly field visits and receives periodic reports from executing associations on the activities.

Banque Misr established a CSR foundation, entitled the “Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development and Welfare”, as a separate legal entity managed by a Board of Trustees to address in-depth social development.

Funding for the foundation is provided by Banque Misr and is allocated on an annual basis as a contribution from its net profits. Donations are also accepted from individuals and external parties.
