The Ministry of Interior announced Tuesday that it arrested 18 alleged members of the now banned Muslim Brotherhood group in different locations. The various charges range from plotting against security personnel and judges, to possession of weapons, explosives, and anti-government flyers and posters.

In an online statement, the ministry said that the defendants were from Giza, Beheira, and Damietta. They are charged with attacking a police car, protesting against the police and the army, and possessing explosive devices connected to mobile phones.

The ministry added that arrest warrants were issued for all the defendants, and that they are expected to stand in front of a court of justice.
