Yields rise at Egyptian 182-day T-bill auction

CAIRO: The average yield on 182-day Egyptian treasury bills inched up at an auction on Thursday and the central bank sold less bills than it was offering, the Ministry of Finance said

The average yield was 14.824 percent, up from 14.791 percent at an auction last week. The central bank sold bills worth LE 2 billion ($331 million), instead of the LE 3 billion it had offered.

The average yield on 357-day T-bills also auctioned on Thursday was 15.554 percent, down from 15.729 at the last issue on April 10. It sold LE 4 billion of the bills instead of the LE 3.5 billion it was offering.

The central bank sells the bills on behalf of the ministry.
